Indigo

Name: Indigo

Major: Digital Arts

Year: Sophomore

How did you choose your major? I wanted to find a way to make art that would be a little more cohesive with the way society is going. It seems to be going in the direction of technology.

How would you describe your style? Ah man, changing every day. I look pretty grungy some days and sometimes I like to look nice–a little more girly. I like to dress how I feel so you can get a good gauge on how I’m feeling.

EditBodyIndigo borrows most of her clothes or thrifts them. Her shorts are from a friend, her shirt is from an ex and her jacket is thrifted.

If you had a uniform you had to wear everyday, what would it be? Black. And a denim jacket.

ShoeEditIndigo pairs her outfit with hiking books. This trend can be seen all over the Pacific North West but also in niche cultures around the world–including Japan.

Is there one piece in your wardrobe that stands out to you? My denim jacket. The one I’m wearing today. I wear it every day and I like to put patches on it. Denim looks good with everything. It’s comfy and it’s just my favorite.

ShirtEdit

Would you describe yourself as having more of a style or aesthetic? Aesthetic because I live my life by aesthetics.

Can you explain that a little more? Well if I had to choose a religion, I’d probably follow a religion of beauty. I like to epitomize beauty or see beauty in everything that I do, including the way that I choose to express myself. I like to buy clothes that can be art pieces. Not just something you wear but something that’s beautiful.

Game day: BCS National Championship 2015

Ducks were looking spirited on campus today as Oregon takes on Ohio State in the National Championship! Some added touches of their own personal style to their game day ensemble.

Stay stylish and go Ducks!

Titi

We see trends in magazines and on social media that come and go. Those trends usually translate into our everyday wardrobe. Trends like high-low (aka mullet) hemlines or platform flip-flops may seem embarrassing or kitschy later, but there is one trend that Dressed Up Ducks thinks is here to stay. Minimalism. Minimalism takes style and simplifies it. Out with arm candy and patchwork denim and in with clean lines and structured pieces. Titi, an international student from China, hints at the minimalism trend in her burgundy and black outfit. Titi’s outfit only incorporates basic pieces, but each piece is combined with care. Titi achieves a sleek, understated style!

Titi wears a Prada bag (so fancy). While a Prada bag does not seem minimalist, she tells me that she has had the bag for many years. Because the bag is of high quality, the wear-to-cost ratio may be equal to a similar knock off Forever 21 bag that only works for a season. Either way, the bag envy is real.

Titi finishes off her look with a pair of Chelsea boots from Urban Outfitters. So chic!

Having trouble dressing up this holiday season? Try dressing down and give the minimalism trend a go!

Maria

Sometimes it isn’t one item in an outfit that stands out, but the outfit as a whole that attracts your attention. Maria, a general science major, pairs a number of classics in order to create a stylish and well put together ensemble. Her black circle scarf, cargo jacket, and cuffed jeans all work together to create this laid back look. Add red lipstick and her outfit is complete! Maria says she mostly shops at places like H&M and Forever 21, but her favorite place to shop is her mom’s closet.

At this point Dressed Up Ducks can definitely say that booties are a trend that are going to hang around for some time. They add a little height and sleekness to any outfit.

This scarf is not only trendy and warm, but it adds more detail to the outfit. The unique knitted pattern is very cool.
